Are you ready to leverage your experience as a senior software engineer or solution architect to lead a delivery team and develop solution designs and architectures?
You may be a senior engineer (or team leader) with a solid background in solution design who is looking for an opportunity to become a solution architect, or you may be a solution architect with a background in leading and developing software/data engineers.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced person as our new Software, Data & Solution Architecture Lead.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a senior engineer in the software or data domain and have gained professional skills and experience in the development of solution designs.
This is a ‘hands-on’ position where you will lead a small team to deliver software and data solution components and also lead multi-team collaboration in development of solution designs and solution architectures.
The role reports to the Head of Engineering and is based in Hobart Tasmania. This role cannot be performed remotely or from an interstate location.
Key accountabilities:
Provide mentorship and guidance to engineers at all levels, helping them reach their full potential.
Lead and manage a small team to develop scalable and secure technology solutions in accordance with established delivery framework.
Select and apply appropriate design standards, methods, and tools consistent with solution architectures.
Lead collaborative development of solution and reference architectures, by bringing together appropriate domain specialists (including enterprise and security architects, platform, cloud, security, network, server and data engineers)
Analyse and evaluate solution options, creating option papers and supporting decision-making processes.
Support appropriate technical governance and contribute to the maturity and improvement of engineering and architecture practices.
Develop productive and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation.
You will have:
Experience leading a small team of engineers
Strong understanding of architectures and building Data and Integration solutions in a Microsoft enterprise environment
Expertise in designing and implementing solutions involving the following:
M365 – SharePoint, Power Platform
Azure – IaC (Bicep), Function Apps, Logic Apps, ADFs, APIs, Entra
DevSecOps – CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Git-Flow, Visual Studio, PowerShell
Data – Microsoft SQL, Data Bricks, PowerBI, Fabric
Familiarity with contemporary engineering concepts including DevSecOps and FinOps
Knowledge and experience in end-to-end project delivery, either traditional Software Development Life Cycle or Agile delivery methodologies (or hybrid approaches)
Ability to set priorities, plan workload, meet deadlines and achieve the objectives through effective use of time
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster positive business relationships
